Maple Bacon just celebrated her first birthday in April and she truly is the sweetest most loved girl. She’s a 12-month-old Labrador Retriever that’s been raised right in the home and it shows in her easygoing affectionate temperament. She’s social loves her people and is the kind of dog that just fits into everyday life.

She’s crate trained, walks decent on a leash and has a solid start on her basic manners. One of our favorite things about her is how much she enjoys her crate—she’ll put herself to bed every night and chooses to nap in there periodically throughout the day.

Back in late February on her very first walk of the year she tweaked her leg and she immediately started showing signs consistent with a knee injury (suspected ACL/CCL). She is 90% healed now. She was been seen by our veterinarian and was placed on crate rest with pain medication (as needed) which she is currently off of and has done well using it when needed. She’s still happy and comfortable overall but this is something that should be evaluated by an orthopedic vet and there is a chance she may need surgical repair down the road.

Because of that we’re looking for the right pet home for her at a very reduced fee. I truly feel she would heal best in a quieter household with a fenced backyard and overall less room to run and roam. She would do best in a calmer companion-style home that can keep her a bit more settled while she heals—something that’s admittedly been tough to manage here because she just wants to be part of everything.

She’s an incredibly special girl and we’re looking for just the right fit where she can be loved supported and set up for long-term success.

Female, born July 6, 2025 who is looking for a wonderful pet home. She is house broken and crate trained and has been raised in our home environment. Nacho has a very soft, gentle temperament and gets along well with other dogs, making her an easy addition to the right household.

She is not spayed. We have made the decision to retain her sister for our program, which is the only reason she is being made available. Nacho would do best in a home that appreciates her softer nature and can continue to build her confidence while giving her the one-on-one attention she enjoys.
